WATCH: Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes warming up ahead of Week 10 vs. Titans

Kansas City Chiefs starting QB Patrick Mahomes is set to make his triumphant return to play on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. This will be Mahomes’ first game since suffering a patella dislocation against the Denver Broncos in Week 7.

While fans are happy to see the young phenom back in action, there’s an air of worry surrounding his return. The Chiefs have been careful with his injury taking every possible precaution before arriving at this point. The team has consulted their own trainers and doctors as well as multiple specialists outside of the organization in order to feel comfortable putting Mahomes back on the football field.

Even with the trusted opinions, Mahomes will be under the microscope as the game gets underway and that includes his pregame warmups.

USA Today Sports Network alumni Turron Davenport shared some field-level video of Mahomes getting loose. He looks as natural and comfortable as he did ahead of his injury.

Chiefs Digest’s Matt Derrick caught Mahomes throwing the ball around during warmups. One thing that was made clear on Friday is that Mahomes feels as if he’s ready to play his unique brand of football.

“That’s what we tested out this week especially,” Mahomes said. “We put me on the run, and I threw it across my body. We did all the stuff that I’ve grown to do as I’ve been in the NFL and my whole career and I didn’t have any pain. I was still able to do it. I was able to throw it across my body and I wanted to make sure I was able to do that before I got back on that field.”

So don’t expect a more vanilla Chiefs offense on Sunday.

Sam McDowell of the K.C. Star even captured Mahomes testing out some of his signature unique throws during warmups too.
