WATCH: Chiefs players visit pediatric unit at University of Kansas Health System

The Chiefs’ Community Caring Team recently took a visit to the pediatric care unit at the University of Kansas Health System. The visiting group included several tight ends from the past and present, former Chiefs long snapper Kendall Gammon and new safety Tyrann Mathieu.

The Community Caring Team took this visit in order to share hope and inspiration with young people who are fighting medical battles. It seemed to be a very important and inspiring experience for Mathieu in particular.

“We all should really keep a smile on our face,” Mathieu said to Fox 4. “I think we all share different adversities. And anytime you get to see kids going through really, really tough situations with a smile on their face, I think it shares a lot of hope for yourself.”

Because this is National Nurses Week, the visit was also an opportunity to celebrate the nurses that help these young people.

You can watch the full video in the tweet from Fox 4 Sports reporter Harold Kuntz at the top of the page to find out more about the Chiefs’ visit.
