WATCH: Chiefs DE Frank Clark gets first sack with team

The Kansas City Chiefs didn’t have a first-round pick this season because they traded it to the Seattle Seahawks to acquire DE Frank Clark.

Early returns show that Clark is just as dominant as advertised. He’s been a dominant run defender and in his second game playing with the Chiefs his ability as a pass-rusher is showing up. He notched his first sack with the new team and it came on third down too.

Clark lined up in a 2-point stance here instead of with his hand in the dirt. He got Joe Staley to bite on a little head bob to the inside before dipping and ripping right into the quarterback. Check it out:

The Chiefs have high expectations for Clark. Not only do they view him as their first-round draft pick this year, but they’ll rely on his veteran leadership. He brings an edge and fight to the defense that they didn’t previously have.

Clark has also produced at a high level throughout his career. In 2018, he notched 13 total sacks and 27 QB hits. He’s as disruptive as they come getting after the QB. This is the first of many sacks to come for Clark while he wears a Chiefs uniform. It’s exciting to see Clark get that first one out of the way during the preseason, but it will be even more exciting when he notches the first one of the regular season.
