WATCH: Chiefs DE Chris Jones mic’d up at training camp

Kansas City Chiefs DE Chris Jones hasn’t just been the most dominant player at training camp this year, he’s also been the most animated. That’s why it’s an absolute pleasure to see him mic’d up for training camp.

Jones starts his day by walking down the hill to practice and greeting the fans. He gets them hyped up for a padded practice and when a fan responds with, “Hit somebody!” Jones had the perfect response.

“Hold on, easy tiger, easy tiger,” Jones said with a big grin and a chuckle. “Easy.”

As it turns out, Jones would hit somebody or a couple of somebodies. He gets warmed up on some training dummies before going to work against the offensive line in 1-on-1 drills. He showed off some of his tremendous quickness and power coming off the edge. He works over Orlando Brown Jr. and Lucas Niang with ease, which has pretty much been a daily occurrence no matter who he lines up against.

“On all these reps, just turn and burst,” Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo says. “Just get used to the conditioning. You feel me?”

Sure enough, it was “turn and burst” on all of the repetitions for the newly-converted defensive end after that.
