Charles Barkley is the latest NBA analyst to weigh in on the Zion Williamson size debate – and the Hall of Fame forward has some expertise on the subject. Barkley, who at 6-foot-6 stands an inch shorter than Williamson, weighed in at 300 pounds during his college days, but lost a significant amount of weight in the NBA.
The NBA on TNT analyst said this on ESPN’s Get Up!: “I don’t know what Zion’s perfect playing weight is going to be. I thought 300 was my perfect playing weight in college. I had to lose 50 pounds to become a Hall of Famer.”
Mike Krzyzewski said at the Peach Jam last week that Williamson was certainly not in playing shape after all of his off-the-court obligations this off-season and believed that the first overall pick of the NBA Draft should not have been on the court when he suffered a minor knee injury in his debut with the Pelicans.
