Chargers tight end Hunter Henry is being placed on injured reserve after suffering a left knee fracture in Sunday’s season-opening overtime win versus the Colts.
Henry went down with the injury, which is a fracture in the upper part of the tibia in his left knee according to the AP, during the second half but returned to the field during overtime.
The tight end had four receptions for 60 yards Sunday, including a 17-yard catch in overtime, as Los Angeles beat Indianapolis 30-24.
This is the second consecutive season that Henry is sidelined with a serious injury. He tore his right ACL during offseason workouts leading into the 2018 season, then returned to the team for the playoffs. Henry is a 2016 second-round draft pick out of Arkansas.
