WATCH Chaos as gardai swarm Henry Street to clear huge crowd of teens

Gardai swarmed one of the city centre's most popular shopping streets last night to disperse a large group of young people who had gathered in the area.

Officers were called to the disturbance on Henry Street shortly before 8:30pm.

Footage of the incident shows several gardai clearing the busy street as a number of people appear to flee the scene while other stunned shoppers look on.

At one point, a garda can be heard shouting, "everybody off the street" while other gardai speak to a number of youngsters.

Other gardai can be seen shepherding people down the street and away from the scene.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live a 16-year-old boy was arrested during the disturbance.

He said: "At approximately 8.25pm Gardaí responded to reports of groups of youths gathered in the Henry Street area.

"A 16-year-old male was arrested for breach of the Public Order Act as Gardaí dispersed youths gathered on the street."
