Watch Chance the Rapper's 'Saturday Night Live' promos

Dec. 11--Chance the Rapper doesn't dish on sandwiches.

The Chicago rapper appeared in a series of promos for his "Saturday Night Live" debut this weekend with host Chris Hemsworth, who stars in "In the Heart of the Sea." Chance the Rapper has declared himself the first independent artist to play "SNL," which is in its 41st season.

In one spot, "SNL" cast member Bobby Moynihan jokes that he, Hemsworth and Chance the Rapper are in a "hot guy sandwich."

"That's right, America, you want to take a bite?," Hemsworth asks.

"Hey Chance, you got a fun sandwich comment?," Moynihan asks.

"Nah," said Chance the Rapper, who wears a White Sox hat.

In another promo, the three joke that they are best friends.

"Bobby is my emergency contact person," says Chance the Rapper, who was born Chancelor Bennett.

"I thought I was your emergency contact," Hemsworth says before Moynihan kisses him.

This has been a big autumn for Chance the Rapper, 22. He debuted his new track "Angels" on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" in October and welcomed his first child in September. He also recently made headlines after Spike Lee responded to his criticism that his movie "Chi-Raq," a fictional tale about South Side gun violence, is problematic and goofy.

"SNL" airs on NBC at 10:30 p.m.
