WATCH: Celtics tie season-high assists vs. Rockets with outstanding ball movement

The lack of ball movement the Boston Celtic have displayed this season is a not-small part of their struggles leading to many avoidable losses, but against the Houston Rockets Friday night, the Celtics tied a season high for assists with 35 on the night.

Showing hints of grasping, finally, how better distribution can help them win games, Boston saw veteran guard Marcus Smart dole out 10 assists alone, with point guard Kemba Walker and starting center Robert Williams III each chipping in another 8 apiece. For a team that averages a mere 23.1 dimes per contest, this is a huge increase and hopefully part of a new approach to play.

If the Celtics are going to make a strong finish to the season, truly unselfish play is one of the best tools they have at their disposal to do it.

Watch the highlights of the best of Boston’s ball movement against the Rockets Friday night in this highlight clip put together by Tomasz Kordylewski.

With a little luck, we’ll be seeing more nights like this one moving forward.
