WATCH: Celtics rookie Grant Williams photobombs Carsen Edwards

One of the first words Boston Celtics rookie forward Grant Williams used to describe himself to C’s fans after Boston selected him 22nd overall in the 2019 NBA Draft was “goofball,” and 20-year-old Charlotte native has lived up to that good-natured description early on in his Celtics tenure, quickly befriending his fellow rookies and showing himself to be a natural leader in large part because of his outgoing personality.

His youthful energy continued to be showcased on Media Day, as he photobombed fellow rookie Carsen Edwards while the former Boilermakers star posed for the cameras, completely unaware of Williams behind him and posing as well.

The way Williams and Edwards interact is just one example of how there’s going to be lighthearted atmosphere in the locker room that didn’t exist last season, due to expectations the team failed to reach and a lack of leadership from All-NBA guard Kyrie Irving.

Hopefully, the chemistry being built off-the-court, in Summer League and in the FIBA World Cup translates on the court for the Celtics next season.
