WATCH: Celtics rookie Aaron Nesmith’s first 3-pointer

Boston Celtics rookie small forward Aaron Nesmith sunk his very first 3-pointer of his pro career with roughly six minutes left in the third quarter of the Celtics’ 2020-21 preseason debut against Atlantic Division rival Philadelphia 76ers.

While there may not have been a crowd in the arena to appreciate the career milestone, you could almost hear a collective shout through the broadcast of Boston fans everywhere excited to see the prospect do the thing he was drafted for — sink treys with ease. He may have missed the next few attempts, but the form looks good, and his defense wasn’t terrible either.

With fellow rookie Payton Pritchard putting in some strong play in the first half, it looks like the Celtics made some solid choices in this smallest of sample sizes so far.

Don’t take our word for it however — watch the clip embedded above to see the Vanderbilt product’s inaugural 3-pointer at the NBA level, courtesy of Fortune’s Chris Grenham.
