WATCH: Celtics fan favorite Tacko Fall regaled with ‘MVP’ chants vs Hornets

If you thought Tacko Mania was going away any time soon, guess again.

Boston Celtics two way center Tacko Fall remains the darling of the team, with fans clamoring for his entry into games earlier and earlier.

While he still has a ways to go in terms of development to warrant prime time minutes when the game is close, it hasn’t stopped fans from breaking out a chant for the UCF product any time the Celtics are on top of an opponent.

It occurred Friday night against the Detroit Pistons once it was clear the game was in hand, and started even earlier on Sunday, Dec. 20 while Boston hadn’t quite put away the Charlotte Hornets in ex-Celtic Terry Rozier’s first return to the Garden with his new franchise.

The now-regular calls of “We want Tacko!” began in the game’s third quarter, and rose to a crescendo in the final frame as swingman Jayson Tatum began to give the Celtics some separation.

On checking in, a new wrinkle started in the audience — chants of “M.V.P.”

Even Celtics legend Tommy Heinsohn got caught up in the hysteria, forcing a very iffy rhyme while noting the fans were “wacko for Tacko” in a way only Tommy could.

While there’s a very long road to the Senegalese center even sniffing the actual M.V.P. race, for Boston fans it’s clear that Fall is their most valued player in the short minutes he’s been able to take the floor this season.
