WATCH: Celtic rookie Payton Pritchard’s stationary ball-handling routine

By now, Boston Celtics fans have for the most part realized they got more than one deadeye shooter in the 2020 NBA draft, with Oregon Ducks floor general Payton Pritchard joining fellow first-round Celtic draftee Aaron Nesmith out of Vanderbilt.

But what they may not have yet learned is that Pritchard has handles like few prospects entering the league — and maybe even on par with some of the better ball-handlers he’ll be facing in his inaugural campaign with Boston starting next month.

Able to attack and penetrate against more athletic defenders with his elite dribbling, the Oregon native can break down defenders like he has the ball on a string.

And that’s not something he was born able to do either — but rather the result of countless hours of practice, slapping the ball on the concrete of his garage until his neighbors likely invested in some heavy-duty earplugs.

Check out the video he made of his ballhandling drill — even standing still by himself, it’ll raise your eyebrows if you have a pulse, so watch the clip embedded above to see for yourself.
