Watch Celtic and Rangers legends Chris Sutton and Ally McCoist fail to ring bells in Germany

In Scottish football, everyone has an opinion about Chris Sutton and Ally McCoist.

Both were prolific goalscorers during their playing days in Glasgow, and both have gone on to enjoy successful careers in punditry.

Sutton scored 86 goals in 199 games for Celtic, while McCoist found the net 355 times in 581 Rangers appearances.

Rangers fans are frequently vocal in their distaste for Sutton's opinions, while Celtic supporters are unlikely to forget the satisfaction McCoist took in scoring numerous derby goals.

In Germany, however, their names don't appear to ring out to quite the same extent.

For BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra, host Darrell Currie took to the streets of Germany and asked people if they knew of Sutton or McCoist.

He was met with a series of bemused responses. Not even the mention of Sutton's England cap or McCoist's starring role alongside Robert Duvall in 2000's A Shot at Glory could prompt a flicker of recognition.

The video ends with Currie asking commentator Ian Darke if he'd ever heard of McCoist.

Darke responded: "Search me...never heard of him mate."
