Vandals caught on CCTV throwing bricks at Peter Dutton's electorate office

The words 'Deport Dutton' were spray painted in red on a footpath about 200 metres down the road.

Queensland police have released video footage of the four people who smashed Peter Dutton's electoral office early on Friday morning, in a bid to find the offenders.

The footage was captured on CCTV at 1:45am and shows the group running up to the Federal Member for Dickson's office at Strathpine, in Brisbane's north, and began throwing brick pavers at the building.

One of the offenders used a hammer in the attack, which left six windows smashed and two front doors damaged with holes the size of a football.

Detectives said the incident also left puncture holes in the walls.

Thirty seconds after the attack began, the four people ran out of view of the camera and police do not believe anyone entered Mr Dutton's office.

Authorities are also investigating graffiti on a footpath about 200 metres down the road from Mr Dutton's office.

Andrew Schloss, who works in a disability support centre next door, said it was not the first time Mr Dutton's office had been targeted.

"Everything from people dressed up as witches through to the 'get up and go people' — a lot of people out here saying 'free Manus Island' and so on," he said.

"It's usually his stuff around his portfolio, but not damage like this."

Mr Dutton lost the leadership ballot for the Liberal Party on Friday after a noon showdown, with Scott Morrison elected as new leader.
