WATCH: Carson Palmer reacts to news of joining Cardinals Ring of Honor

The Arizona Cardinals announced they will induct former quarterback Carson Palmer into the Ring of Honor as the 18th member and third quarterback in September. He will be honored at halftime in their Week 4 contest at home against the Seattle Seahawks.

Team president Michael Bidwill wanted to give Palmer the news face to face, so he face timed him and the call was shared on the team’s social media accounts.

Check out what happened on the call and how Palmer reacted.

It was the first time he had ever face timed with Bidwill.

He asked if Bidwill was serious and responded saying, “That’s awesome! I’m beyond honored!”

He continued:

“Five years was not enough. I wish I would have gotten there earlier, as you know, but I am beyond honored and I can’t wait. That’s amazing. That’s great news!”

Palmer is arguably the best quarterback in team history. He had the best passing season in team history in 2015 and led the team to a franchise record in wins. He has the highest winning percentage, the third-most wins and fourth-most touchdown passes in team history.

His career with the Cardinals, though only five seasons, two of which were cut short by injury, were defining enough to honor him only two seasons after he retired from the league.
