WATCH: Carsen Edwards lights up the Cavs from beyond the arc

Despite entering the second half with just four points, Boston Celtics rookie point guard Carsen Edwards finished the game with 30 bones without even playing in the fourth quarter.

Bones because Edwards is a dog, as he showed spectators when he knocked down eight three-point attempts in just five minutes and four of those within a span of 88 seconds.

Frankly, as the Cavaliers don’t boast any elite defenders along their perimeter and it’s a preseason game, Edwards’ smattering of threes may be taken with a grain of salt.

However, as Edwards made 36.8 percent of his threes at Purdue (7.1 attempts per game) and knocked down 46.7 percent of his threes in Summer League (9.0 attempts per game) but entered Tuesday’s game shooting just 31.2 percent from three in the preseason (5.3 attempts per game), he may have been due for just this type of night.

The law of averages.

As you can see from the clip above, provided by  Celtics.com’s Marc D’Amico, it didn’t matter who was guarding Edwards or how tight the defense may have been.

He just let it fly.
