Watch cars submerged in flood water attempt to drive through Paisley street

A shocking video has emerged of cars crawling through deep flood waters on a busy Paisley street.

Vehicles desperately tried to make their way through rising flood waters on the A761 in Paisley.

Earlier today an ambulance became stranded in the same street after heavy rains caused travel chaos across Scotland, with the Renfrewshire particularly badly hit.

The Black Cart Water in Linwood has also burst its banks causing water to flow across fields and roads.

A red-faced BMW driver was forced to call for help after getting stranded in a separate flooding incident.

Despite seeing another car already stranded, they attempted to continue driving along Glenpatrick Road in Paisley before also getting stuck.

Several train services have also been disrupted with commuters warned that trains may be delayed or revised.

Scotrail said they were experiencing heavy flooding on the railway at Larbet, Forth Valley, meaning trains were running at a reduced speed.

Standing water was also experienced on the railway between Westerton and Anniesland in Greater Glasgow.

Severe weather conditions in Ayrshire was causing sea spray to land on overhead railway wires causing them to trip.

Trains between Glasgow Central to Ardrossan Harbour and Largs were being forced to terminate and start back from Kilwinning.
