Watch: Cameron Jordan helps deliver 2020 Senior Bowl invitation

The first wave of invitations have been sent out for the 2020 Senior Bowl, a collegiate all-star game played in Mobile, Ala. highlighting NFL draft prospects. New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan is one of the Senior Bowl’s past participants before he was picked in the first round of the 2011 draft, and he was able to help invite an NFL prospect from his own alma mater to next year’s event.

Jordan appeared in a video shared by the Senior Bowl’s official Twitter account, in which he extends an invitation to California Golden Bears linebacker Evan Weaver. The nine-year NFL veteran congratulated Weaver on the opportunity and thanked him for how well the 6-foot-3, 235-pound senior has represented their university. See it for yourself:

Weaver followed up his breakout junior year (8.5 sacks, 155 total tackles) with a strong performance in 2019, recording 9 sacks and 126 combined tackles in his first eight games. Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy noted that Weaver may have been the most-improved prospect they have scouted this season. He certainly seems like someone up for carrying the legacy Jordan has established for former Golden Bears in the NFL.
