Cam Newton has missed the last four games for the Panthers and he’s been ruled out again today against the 49ers. He’s getting closer to returning by the looks of things, though. Watch Newton go through his warmup routine on the 49ers’ field.
Newton’s throwing shoulder has gotten a lot of attention, but it’s the foot that should concern Carolina fans. If Cam can’t move around like he’s accustomed to, he’s a relatively limited quarterback. Once Newton gets all of his mobility back, he can return to the lineup.
Our best guess is Cam will begin practicing this coming week and make his return Week 10 against the Packers in Green Bay.
