Watch: Cam Akers rips off 61-yard run, gives Rams the lead with first rushing TD

The Rams have cycled through their running backs all season long, but Cam Akers was the one to provide a highlight-reel play on Sunday against the 49ers. He ripped off a 61-yard run just before the end of the third quarter, sparking an offense that had been struggling all game long.

It was the longest rush by a Rams running back since Sean McVay took over as head coach in 2017, just to put into perspective how rare a run of that distance has been for the Rams.

Two plays later, Akers gave the Rams the lead with a 1-yard touchdown run, the first rushing touchdown of his young career.

Akers was the only Rams player to touch the ball on the drive, gaining 68 yards on the possession in just three plays.
