A small Southern California wildfire burning in dry brush sent smoke and flames swirling in a tornado-like pattern.
The fire near Quail Lake in Gorman closed portions of Route 138 northwest of Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department was fighting the blaze from both the ground and air.
The department tweeted that crews were making good progress on the fire and that no structures were threatened.
