WATCH: BTN analysts pick best Big Ten tradition. Where is Script Ohio?

The Big Ten is full of cool traditions. In fact, it’s hard to find a collection of college football fanbases, bands, and fans that have the traditions so tried and true to what is in the heartland.

Eat your heart out SEC.

But what traditions are the best of all? If you’re an Ohio State fan, it might be tough to even pick the best in Columbus. There’s the gold pants for beating Michigan, Buckeye Grove, the Skull Session, Hang On Sloopy, and of course, Script Ohio.

So what do the guys at BTN think? They agree, it’s hard to pick just one, but the trio of Dave Revsine, Mike Hall, and Rick Pizzo each gave their favorite tradition in the entire Big Ten Conference, and Script Ohio was picked by Hall.

Here’s what Hall says about the venerable and timeless tradition.

“When I think of what makes college sports special, it’s often rarely the actual sport itself,” said Hall. “It’s everything around it — the fans, the alums, the campus. In that regard, I’m going to take Ohio State’s band dotting the i. The band is such a huge part of the college sporting experience. Those folks are not just awesome at what they do, but they’re the ones providing the soundtrack that makes the college game feel different from the pro game. The fact that OSU has this tradition going all the way back to the 1930’s, the fact that it’s done in the script design — I mean we don’t even teach our kids cursive anymore in school, that’s how old school this is. It drips with unique, college history. I love it.”

So what did the other two guys go with? Dave Revsine agreed that he gets goosebumps whenever he sees Script Ohio, but picked Wisconsin’s “Jump Around.” Pizzo went sentimental with the new and very special Iowa “wave” to the Children’s hospital.

You can watch the full video debate here thanks to what was shared by BTN’s Twitter profile.

Those are all good choices, but we are indeed a little partial to Le Regiment being played as TBDBITL serenades the entire stadium with Script Ohio.
