Tiger Woods will play at Royal Portrush for the first time as The Open Championship gets underway on Thursday.
In attempting to prepare for the tournament as best as he could, Woods hoped to play an extra practice round with Brooks Koepka, but Koepka never answered the text asking to play. Did Koepka ghost Woods? Koepka’s caddie is from Portrush, so Woods was hoping to get a round in on the course and pick up pointers, but no such luck.
Koepka did change his phone number in early June (he believes the old one was given out — a high volume of unknown numbers sending messages and calling prompted the change), so maybe Woods just didn’t have the new number.
