Watch: Bristol in Lockdown - the high and lows of two months in a pandemic

Ever since the third week of March, Bristol has been a changed city.

Where once there were traffic jams and packed pubs, football crowds and full factories and offices, playgrounds and festivals, now there are shuttered up businesses, empty streets - just about still - full parks and life as we have known it our whole lives so far, has been put on hold.

There are no more hugs. No more meals out, chance encounters and buzzing streets.

There has been unimaginable grief, the deaths of hundreds of our fellow Bristol citizens made all the more heartbreaking because we knew each one had family unable to be there to hold their hand.

And there has been an unprecedented outpouring of love, cherishing, support and encouragement to those who are the ones still holding hands - the NHS staff and the carers who have saved lives and mourned each loss.

And we have realised who are actually important to keep us going - the delivery drivers, the cleaners, the binmen and all the keyworkers, who have gone out still while we have retreated, into our homes, with perhaps a hint of shame at who we had taken for granted before the world said stop.

And many of us have been able to step up, when others have to step down - volunteering with a hand up and a smile, to make sure everyone is supported with what they need.

And from within our confinement, we have discovered new ways to exchange and interact,We have channelled new ways to be creative, to connect and not be alone, to remind ourselves that that is actually the point of it all.

So here, in the video above, is a snapshot of these past two months. From the tragedy to the hope, from the pain to the humour.
