WATCH: Brian Cushing throws a touchdown pass to Texans QB Deshaun Watson in practice

Ever wondered what would have happened if there were an all-time Houston Texans team and linebacker Brian Cushing threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to quarterback Deshaun Watson?

Wonder no further. In the early portion of Monday evening’s practice at NRG Stadium, Cushing, who is now an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the club, tossed a touchdown pass to Watson, who toe-tapped in the back right corner of the end zone for a completed catch.

It is unknown why Cushing threw the ball to Watson, although for certain it isn’t part of a new formation that new offensive coordinator Tim Kelly is drawing up for the regular season.

While Cushing may never throw to Watson, it is possibly for Watson to throw to some of Cushing’s old teammates, specifically defensive end J.J. Watt, who lined up at tight end and caught three touchdown passes in 2014. Since then, Watt was targeted once in 2015, but has not lined up in the red zone after returning to form in 2018. If there is a both-ways connection to be had, that would be the one to look for.
