There were a few standouts in the Chargers preseason opener against the Cardinals, but no one got more attention than rookie linebacker Drue Tranquill.
Tranquill came in late in the second quarter to take over as the middle linebacker. He played the rest of the game, and within that we saw a glimpse of what could be a key player for years to come.
The former Notre Dame product led the team in tackles with five. Tranquill also posted the only interception of the game. But it’s not only the statistics that really mattered, it’s how he played in order to fill up his stat line.
