WATCH: Brian Baldinger breaks down Brandon Allen’s first start

Broncos quarterback Brandon Allen got his first career start against the Browns in Week 9 and he helped Denver secure a 24-19 win. Allen threw two touchdown passes in the win and had no interceptions.

During an appearance on NFL Network this week, analyst Brian Baldinger broke down film of Allen’s first regular-season game:

“I don’t think Vic Fangio — the Broncos, John Elway — could have anticipated anything better than what Brandon Allen gave them [Sunday],” Baldinger said. “It was a spark. He was good, he was error-free, and it was impressive [from] a guy who hadn’t played in four years.”

Allen entered the league as a sixth-round pick out of Arkansas with the Jaguars in 2016. After spending his rookie season in Jacksonville, Allen spent the last two years as a backup with the Rams.

Denver signed Allen as a backup in September and he served as QB2 for the first eight games of the season. Allen started in the place of an injured Joe Flacco last week and he is expected to continue starting.
