Boston Celtics star forward Jayson Tatum spoke to the press after the Celtics’ first practice of their annual training camp about his plans for the season ahead and shared some news about how he has been working on his game that ought to bring some joy to fans who have been clamoring for the St. Louis native to get to the line more often.
Tatum related that he is planning on “getting downhill more and shooting more free throws” in 2021-22, which more than a few fans and analysts have will be happy to hear. The Duke product also talked about his teammate Marcus Smart making the full-time move to point guard, noting “Smart is a hell of a player.”
“As good as he is on the defensive end, his playmaking is right up there,” added Tatum. “Having the ball in his hands is always a good thing.”
