The Boston Red Sox have placed David Price on the 10-day IL, retroactive to Monday, Aug. 5, the team announced Thursday.
Price has a left wrist injury, according to the team, and was scheduled to start Friday. Per the Boston Globe, “an MRI revealed Price has a cyst in the triangular fibrocartilage complex of his wrist and it was treated with a cortisone shot.”
In 21 games this season, Price is 7-5 with a 4.36 earned run average, but he is 0-3 in his last five starts with an 8.59 ERA.
