Boston Celtics rookie center Vincent Poirier probably has not gotten the sort of playing time he was hoping for when he joined the team this summer, but he has managed to shine on several occasions when his number has been called by the franchise.
A true 7-footer, the Clamart, France native joined the Celtics after a successful career playing in Europe for Baskonia of the Spanish Liga ACB and the EuroLeague, spending much of his rookie season in the NBA playing with the (Portland) Maine Red Claws.
There, the Frenchman logged 16.3 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists over four games with the Celtics G League affiliate, and 1.9 points and 1.6 rebounds over 21 games playing for the parent club.
