There was a lot of understandable concern about four time All-Star point guard Kemba Walker’s knee when the Boston Celtics first got to the bubble after the UConn product felt irritation in the same knee that was bothering him before the pandemic in individual workouts.
Not any more.
The Bronx native was extra cautious in ramping up the minutes he played while he strengthened his knee, and it’s paid off for Walker in a big way.
Since the seeding games began in the Disney restart bubble, the New Yorker has averaged 14.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 42.9 % from 3.
He’s done that averaging just 25.1 minutes per game, too.
With teammate Gordon Hayward looking aggressive as ever and Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum terrorizing defenses on the wing, Walker’s rejuvenation puts the Celtics in a good position for a deep run in the postseason starting Monday.
