Boris Johnson has ordered pubs, cafes, restaurants and other public places to close.
In his latest update, the Prime Minister urged businesses to close tonight and not to reopen in order to contain the spread of coronavirus.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak also revealed how the government will help workers affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.
It came after the number of deaths in the UK hit 177 following the biggest daily rise since the pandemic began.
The government has also published more information about how grades will be calculated for pupils whose exams have been cancelled in May and June.
