Boris Johnson is due to give a statement amid reports he is considering imposing a national lockdown in England to fight the second wave of coronavirus.
The Prime Minister will be holding a press conference at Downing Street today alongside chief medical officer Professor Chris Whitty and chief scientific adviser Sir Patrick Vallance.
It came after a report in The Times said the Government was expected to announce a national lockdown that could last until early December.
The briefing from Downing Street was expected to start at 5pm but has been delayed until 6.30pm.
