Watch Billy Gilmour's effortless Maradona seven as Chelsea kid shows off skills

It's arguably the most iconic warm-up in football history.

Diego Maradona 's 'seven', performed shortly before dispatching Bayern Munich while he was at Napoli in the 1989 UEFA Cup, consists of keepy-ups with both feet, both knees, both shoulders and finally the head.

And now Scottish wonderkid Billy Gilmour has mastered it.

Gilmour showed flashes of brilliance as he emerged in the Chelsea first team before the coronavirus pandemic put the brakes on his big breakthrough.

But the former Rangers youngster hasn't stopped showing off his skills as he demonstrated the legendary routine in a video.

The kid left Ibrox as a 15-year-old for the bright lights of London despite a personal plea from then boss Pedro Caixinha.

He burst onto the scene with a towering performance during a 2-0 win over Liverpool where the teenager dominated Brazil international Fabinho in central midfield.

Gilmour demonstrated his talent as part of the Hyundai FC Home Advantage series, aimed at encouraging young players to keep up their training at home.

Watch him in action in our player above or view the full video featuring Chelsea Women's defender Hannah Blundell on the club's YouTube channel.
