Bill Walton will take his broadcasting abilities to baseball later this month. The College Basketball Hall of Famer will serve as a color analyst on the Chicago White Sox broadcast as the team takes on the Los Angeles Angels Aug. 16.
Walton will share the booth with a familiar broadcast partner in the one-off. Jason Benetti is the play-by-play broadcaster for the NBC Chicago broadcast, he and Walton worked six memorable games together at the 2018 Maui Invitational which aired over the course of three days on ESPN last November.
“There is nothing more entertaining than working with the neural fiesta that is Bill Walton,” Benetti told the Chicago Tribune. “I’m over the moon about it. When he said yes, there was a fist pump.”
