WATCH: Bears score first 3rd quarter points this season

The Chicago Bears offense has been bad this season. But they’ve been absolutely abysmal in the third quarter through these first five games. In fact, they were the only team in the NFL that has been held scoreless in any one quarter this season.

The Bears finally broke their third-quarter curse scoring their first points in the final minutes of the quarter. Although it was far from easy, especially as the Bears failed to punch it in from the 1-yard line the previous play with running back David Montgomery.

Facing third-and-goal from the 1-yard line, quarterback Nick Foles kept the ball for the touchdown to put the Bears up by two scores.

While the Bears got their first points of the third quarter, it was still another ugly quarter. They just happened to get some help from a missed Joey Slye 54-yard field goal to set them up on their own 44-yard line.

The Bears lead 23-13 in the fourth quarter.
