WATCH: Bears QB Justin Fields received quite an ovation from fans at Cubs game

Members of the Chicago Bears’ 2021 draft class were in attendance at the Chicago Cubs game Friday at Wrigley Field, including quarterback Justin Fields, who has been the talk of Chicago since the Bears traded up to draft him with the 11th overall pick back in April.

The excitement surrounding the addition of Fields has been unlike anything that this fan base has experienced. That’s what happens when a franchise has suffered decades of struggles at the quarterback position. And Fields certainly presents the best chance at rewriting the quarterback narrative in Chicago.

Fields was feeling the love from the crowd at Wrigley as he received a standing ovation from fans, where the commentators even noted that they heard some MVP chants thrown in there.

Shortly after Fields was drafted back in late April, cameras caught Chicago White Sox fans reacting to the news as they celebrated their new franchise quarterback.

Fields’ reception at the Cubs game — and the reaction at the White Sox game — is a stark contrast to when Chicago’s last first-round quarterback Mitchell Trubisky was booed at a Chicago Bulls game after he was drafted.

Fields officially signed his fully guaranteed, four-year contract with the Bears, which was announced earlier Friday afternoon.
