Watch - 'Be proud of yourself': Hardik Pandya's message to debutant Tilak Varma

NEW DELHI: India's T20 skipper Hardik Pandya spoke his heart out while handing debut cap to young Tilak Varma ahead of the first T20I against West Indies in Trinidad on Thursday.

Pacer Mukesh Kumar, who made his Test and ODI debut earlier on the tour, got his T20I debut cap from leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.

The BCCI posted a video of the Team India huddle and skipper's pep talk before handing debut cap to Varma with a caption: "Be proud of yourself".

The huddle talk started with head coach Rahul Dravid requesting Pandya to hand debut cap to Varma. "This is what dreams are made of. Mehanat karke yahan par aaya hai. Kuch alag nahi karna hai. Same cheez yahin par karega life mein aur aage jayega (You have come here after putting in a lot of effort. Need not to do something different. Just follow the same process here and you will go places in life). Good luck and be proud of yourself," Pandya said to rising star Varma.
