WATCH: Battlehawks score first XFL kickoff return TD on a reverse, no less

The new XFL rule for kickoffs felt like they would be a perfect setup for returners to break through the special teams wall and score a touchdown. It finally happened Sunday as the St. Louis Battlehawks took one 90 yards to the house with some trickeration.

Keith Mumphery, who played college ball at Michigan State, grabbed the kickoff.  He lateraled the ball to Joe Powell and the safety ran all the way to the end zone off the reverse. The play went for 90 yards.

Powell played college football at Globe Institute of Technology in New York City. Powell is a perfect example of an XFL player in it For the Love of Football.
