NEW DELHI: Tilak Varma and Mukesh Kumar made their T20I debuts together - against West Indies in Trinidad in August last year. Mukesh had gone wicketless off his 3 overs before Tilak scored 39 runs, as India had lost the match by 4 runs.
Cut to 2024, both are playing in the Indian Premier League - Tilak Varma for Mumbai Indians and Mukesh Kumar for Delhi Capitals.
Ahead of the Mumbai Indians-Delhi Capitals match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, DC shared a video of a light-hearted banter between the two titled: "Making T20I Debut together. Exchanging Banters together."
In the video, Mukesh can be seen taking one of Tilak's bats and trying to bat and then Tilak shows him a couple of batting stances.
Both teams are languishing at the bottom-end of the table with Delhi Capitals at the ninth spot and Mumbai Indians at tenth.
Delhi Capitals have only one win to show after 4 matches, having lost 3 games.
Having suffered three consecutive losses, Mumbai Indians are in a dire need of a victory.
