When ball kid Atharw Gupta took a catch outside the boundary ropes in a reflex action during the IPL match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), he would not have imagined that it will cause a ripple effect and go viral, besides earning him a meeting with LSG fielding coach, Jonty Rhodes, after the match on Sunday in Lucknow.

The moment unfolded when Marcus Stoinis played an upper cut that sailed over the boundary ropes. Atharw reacted to the shot quickly and positioned himself nicely to take the catch. The next moment broadcast camera panned on the LSG dugout, and Rhodes was seen on the big screen, applauding the young boy's effort.
Post-match, the South African legend met Atharw and a video of the interaction was shared by IPL on social media.

Rhodes gave a few fielding and catching tips to the youngster, who couldn't believe his luck.
The home team was hammered by Kolkata Knight Riders, who registered a 98-run win to move to te top of the points table with their eighth win in 11 matches, which gives them 16 points.
Riding on opener Sunil Narine's blistering 39-ball 81, KKR posted a mammoth 235 for 6 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. In reply, none of the LSG batters could kick on after getting starts and the hosts were bowled out for just 137 in 16.1 overs.
