WATCH: Avonte Maddox provides an update on his status after returning to Philly

Eagles cornerback Avonte Maddox was carried off Lambeau Field on a stretcher during Philadelphia’s 34-27 win versus the Green Bay Packers (3-1) Thursday night, but the player shared a positive update on Twitter Friday morning following his injury.

“Everything is going well. Appreciate the prayers and get well wishes. God is good. 🙏🏽,” the 23-year-old cornerback tweeted.

Mid-day Friday, the Eagles shared that Maddox was diagnosed with a concussion and a neck injury, adding that doctors cleared him to travel back to Philadelphia with the team overnight to undergo further testing.

Maddox collided with teammate Andrew Sendejo and the accidental high hit left the former Pittsburgh Panther on the ground. The team said overnight, “Avonte Maddox has movement in all extremities. For precautionary reasons he has been sent to the hospital for further evaluation.”

The Eagles are 2-2 and host the New York Jets (0-3) in Week 5.
