Huge Avonmouth 'car meet' goes wrong as vehicle flies off road into ditch

A huge 'car meet' in Avonmouth went disastrously wrong when a vehicle swerved off the road and crashed into a ditch.

Footage taken at the event near Severn Beach on Sunday night (November 14) shows a vehicle swerving off the road at a high speed.

Emergency services attended the scene and thankfully no one was seriously injured.

Videos and pictures of the incident were taken by onlookers, who captured the moment the car came off the road.

One witness said a "car crashed after trying to drift" at the 'huge' car meet-up.

Avon Fire and Rescue said: "Crews from Pill were mobilised at 22:47 on 14 November to reports of a car in a ditch near Severn Beach.

"All persons had self-rescued prior to the arrival of firefighters."

Another person said that at least 200 people attended the meet.

It's understood police were also in attendance.
