Woman hit with traffic cone as she brandishes weapon in Glasgow street brawl

A woman was hit with a traffic cone when a brawl erupted on a busy Glasgow road.

The violent incident, which took place yesterday evening on Duke Street caused traffic to grind to a halt

A young man launched what appears to be a glass bottle a man on the pavement, which fortunately smashed on the ground.

A woman involved in the drama was believed to have been armed with a large piece of wood, or baseball bat, before being hit by the traffic cone.

Police were called to the scene and have launched an investigation.

A spokesperson said: “We received reports of a disturbance on Duke Street in Glasgow around 8pm on Saturday, July 3, 2021. Officers attended and a 35-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

"He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 5 July, 2021. Enquiries are ongoing.”
