Watch as Whickham's Dale Burrell scores stunning goal from inside his own half

David Beckham, Xavi Alonso, Wayne Rooney . . . and now Dale Burrell.

Whickham's League Cup tie against Bishop Auckland on Wednesday night may not have been played at Old Trafford or Anfield, but the quality of the goal was right up there with the very best.

After winning the ball, Burrell has the quickest of checks to see the Bishops keeper off his line, before firing the ball in from inside his own half.

The goal came in the second of half of the Lang Jack's 2-1 win at Bishops' Heritage Park - with Whickham 1-0 down at the time.

It was a welcome win for Robin Falcus' side after they had failed to win in their six previous matches.

Whickham take on Silksworth in the Durham Challenge Cup on Wednesday, September 18, and are in next in league action on Saturday, September 21 when they face Whitley Bay at Hillheads in the Northern League Division One. Bishop Auckland travel to Sunderland RCA this Saturday, September 14.
