Watch as St Mirren Women's captain tries to punch dislocated knee back into place

St Mirren Women's player Jane O'Toole is certainly made of tough stuff.

Video highlights of the team's most recent match against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Woman's Championship Cup capture the moment Saints' captain Jane O'Toole dislocated her knee - before proceeding to try and punch it back in place.

After taking an awkward fall in a 50/50 challenge in the 50th minute of the game, footage - posted on the Inverness team's YouTube channel - shows the agonising moment O'Toole's right kneecap pops out.

Instead of immediately calling for the medical team, the frustrated team leader attempted to take matters into her own hands, quite literally, in a bid to hammer the body part back to where it should have been.

Eventually, surrounding players called medics onto the pitch for her to be treated and - incredibly - Jane somehow managed to play out the remaining 40 minutes of the match.

The Paisley team Tweeted about the incident, saying: "Our captain Jane O'Toole, is made of tough stuff.

"Just look at how she dealt with dislocating her knee during our recent game at Inverness.... you can't put a good woman down - she got back up and played the full 90 minutes."

You can't keep a good woman down, indeed.

We're not sure if we'd be able to put on the same brave face if we picked up a similar horror injury - ouch!
