Watch as side-splitting prank left man wearing 1970s fancy dress for Edinburgh day out

A Fife train station erupted into laughter on Saturday morning when a man showed up for a day out with pals in a full 1970s costume – after being tricked into thinking it was fancy dress.

A side-splitting video has emerged of Kieran Lane arriving at Dunfermline Town train station in the impressive outfit, much to the amusement of his 30 or so pals who were most definitely not in fancy dress.

The group, many of whom play for Fife Athletic Football Club, were heading on a day out to Oktoberfest in Edinburgh – and Kieran ended up wearing the costume all day long.

Jordan Devlin posted a video of the prank, which took two weeks to plan, to Twitter and it has since been shared far and wide, with more than 350,000 people viewing it in just two days.

A number of people were left in stitches by the video.

Twitter user @WagstaffBob posted: "Without even knowing the story behind this the reaction of his friends just makes me laugh like hell."

And @maximossilver added: "Everyone's laughing but for me he wins the day hands down. Well played sir."

Jordan told our sister title the Daily Record: "Our friend Kieran Barton came up with the idea.

"Kieran Lane comes to watch all the games.

"He always shouts stupid things from the sidelines and annoys the ones who are playing.

"That's why we got him back."
