Watch as Scots daredevil face-plants in snow after backflipping from grid bin in epic fail

This is the moment a backflipping Scots ‘daredevil’ ended up with a face full of snow after his late-night stunt went spectacularly wron

Barry McIvor spotted a mystery man lurking outside his home in Whitburn, West Lothian, at around 11.30pm on January 2.

The 44-year-old went outside to ask the man what he was doing after seeing him on a mattress slung over a grit bin only to be told that he was ‘ doing backflips ’.

The man had balanced a mattress on top of the grit bin - presumably for added bounce (Handout)

The Whitburn AFC chairman went back inside and locked his door but continued to watch from a window upstairs - with hilarious results.

Barry, a dad-of-three, said: “I looked out my kitchen window and I saw the chap hanging around. He had actually been there for around ten minutes before I took the video.

“I had gone out to him and asked him what he was doing because it was a bit curious for someone to be bouncing on a bin at 11.30pm.

“The guy responded by saying ‘I’m doing backflips’ so I came back inside, locked the door and went upstairs to get a better viewpoint.

“I called my wife over but she didn’t believe me that there was a man doing backflips outside.”

The hilarious video shows the man walking round the mattress as he inspects its precarious position on top of the grit bin.

He then swiftly jumps on top and begins bouncing up and down - clearly trying to build up the courage and momentum to complete his ‘daring’ move.

The man then launches himself in the air backwards but appears to veers off to the side before landing on the snow covered ground - much to the amusement of Barry and his family.

He thankfully manages to stand up again, shakes the snow out of his hooded top, before walking back towards an electricity box.

Barry, who owns West Lothian Gardening Services, explained: “He had actually emptied his pockets quite sensibly beforehand.

“He took his phone, wallet, his vape out and put them on the electricity box. That was what he was collecting when he finished.

“He was quite well prepared - he wasn’t going to damage any of his belongings or himself.

“He managed to get back up and walk away which is just as important obviously.”
