Watch as reckless 'neds' speed through Leith park on motorbikes doing wheelies

Reckless bikers, described by one as a "posse of neds", have caused concern after speeding through a Leith park as locals tried to relax in the sun.

Caught on camera by Michele Bernardini, at least two motorbikes can be seen travelling through Leith Links at high speed.

The clip was taken at around 8:35pm on Friday night (29 May) as residents and families basked in the hot weather.

One local resident joked the scene was "Leith Links motocross competition".

Meanwhile, another frustrated resident commented it was likely to be the same group who he had snapped "riding on the cycle path and the pavements of Seafield Street".

Blasting the dangerous move, Leith Community Council said the bikers "traversed" the Links "between park users" and are urging residents to report any incidents to Police Scotland by calling 101.

According to the community council, the issue has been ongoing with a number of incidents seeing motorbikes driven along the Restalrig Cycle Path, on pavements in the area and around Leith Links.

In a notice, a spokesperson for the community council wrote: "It is concerning to note that they are often not wearing any helmets, are driving at excessive speeds and are ignoring road signs & traffic signals.

"It has also become clear from social media that there are similar at various places in Leith."

Police Scotland said they had no reports of the incident.
